John wasn't able to make this session, but I felt we needed to include his PC's as this adventure was paused in stride last session.
The party had been sent by the Ghost-Witch Lifthrasir to rescue (from the Sinistar Syndicate) the kidnapped Woe Hobbit Nikademos. The party had gained access to the Syndicate's headquarters and had paused in the entry room (last session). There were two doors out, one to the west and one to the north. They started by checking out the west door which led to a waiting area...nothing interesting. Trying the north door next, the party entered a massive warehouse of piles of junk - old furniture, nicknacks, and other worthless items, piles randomly, yet forming a maze.
The Sinistar Syndicate soon detected them, and engaged in combat. {This was a really long combat that was effectively one adventure party against another - it was pretty hard as these things go} Eventually, numbers and hypnotic spells won out, but even then, a couple of the Sydicate members (the foul mouthed warrior and the wizard) escaped.
Pushing on, the party soon found Nikodemos and returned to the Ghost Witch's hideout in the Stink Pool.
{Note: A pretty hard combat to run, and not as close as I think it seemed. Also, I forgot one of the weird aspects of the combat - the Woe Hobbit, due to stress, was supposed to be sending "wild luck" to either or both sides of the combat. I only remembered towards the end and then, noone succeeded to setting off any of the wild luck :(
I am considering players picking two characters to run at a time. At least as long as we are in the "close" range for advetures. Otherwise I'll need to "boost" the opposition.
...and lets face it, I am too lazy for that.
