The group had found out from the brigands that the raider of tombs (the target of the 25gp, 250gp, or (actual) 1000gp bounty - depending on which story the K-girls werte telling at the time) was a witch holed up in a windmill ourtside of Punjar. After giving the bandits 48 hours to clear out of town, the party set out to assault the windmill...but, these things are never simple. Hanur and Gildarin went back to the Froggolleth and got drunk as monkeys and replacements were needed. Sooo...
Welcome! Beltrane the thief and Biddle the Halfling, getting a big 25 gp plus loot share...
The party sent the thieves ahead to scout, which they did well enough finding the windmill and cautiously approaching. Then three scarecrows attacked the main party hanging back...
After a swift, but bitter fight, the scarcrows were dispatched, Biddle was saved from death, and Amar was unstuck. Also, Badger lost his legs and grew a hairy snake tail...see catsnake...
Shoked, and more than a little disturbed, the thieves attempted to enter the building. Beltrne noticed a strange glyph on the back door and with a little luck, was able to defeat the magic trap (whatever it was!) and open the ddor. (It is good to have a halfling luck battery freind!).
Inside the party found an undaed-salt troll - whoi immediately started the central windmill gears.
Raeburn slipped in, but saw he was WAY outgunned and hung back. Oil was flung and Cthulhu was summoned, and to add insult to overkill, a catsnake wizard boy overburned magic missile to put the big undead beastie down.
Everyone stopped to catch a breath (and burn the corpse with oil) before heading to the upper floor.
