Shadows of Atlantis/ Bombay Investigations (WW Cthulhu)

Cast:
Mr. Phillips (John) - Engineer (retired)
Nora St. Dennis (Kathy) - Adventuress
LT Arthur Tennison - SIS Agent
Captain Subedar Joshi - Indian Bombay Guards officer and MI5 Head
A reduced group returned from the Assault on the Blue Monks to the Hidden Valley of the Tsering Lama. There the Lama presented a translation of the Book of the Machine to Mr. Phillips who read it (with little side effects). After farewells to the Lama and Dawa Badger, the group departed in the DC-3 aimed for Bombay, the site of the next part of the superweapon they are trying to keep from the Nazis.
In Bombay, they are met (and debriefed) by LT Tennison (of SIS, but not Section N). Tennison informs the party of the advancing of war, and bombing of London by the Germans. He then takes them to the Hotel Excelsior. Outside the group is dragged along in a wave of children to witness a puppet show that is reminiscent of some of the legends they are pursuing.  They also hear an eirie tune from the puppets. Investigating, the group speaks to the Puppet Master, who says that this is a family tradition play - not tied to a normal Holiday, but for this day every year. Odd...
After some investigating of the Ellora Caves area (at the library) the party is called in to brief the head of MI5 (Security Service) in India, Captain Subedar Joshi. Joshi has read their reports and questions a lot of the mythic aspects of their investigations. After more discussion, he is concerned that some insurgent elements wish to acquire occult artifacts to incite rebellion against the British Empire (with the aim of the Germans). He suggests accompanying the player characters to Ellora with some troops. As Ellora is 220 miles away through unknown territory, the characters agree.
A day later they are ready - Joshi with three Army trucks and drivers and two sections of Bombay Grenadiers (elite Indian troops). Joshi apologizes that all heavy weapons have gone with the troops heading for England, so his men all have only Lee-Enfields (rifles).
The day out, the weather holds, but after an hour of travel, the party encounters a large nomad tribe and herd of cattle. The convoy halts, but remains respectful of the nomads. The headman comes over and says that the tribe's shaman would like to speak with the player characters. The shaman, Namdeo, when questioned about Ellora, shares that the characters should "Beware the spirits of ignorance and loss, for their touch is theminds oblivion. If the red mother's wives and the wolves in sheep's clothing prove to be too much, call for the venerable blue warriors from the north. They will be listening."
The shaman nods and with the cattle crossing complete, the tribe, and the convoy continue on.
