Gobo - a goblin warrior who escaped Faerie with Nerelon (Chaotic)
Eata - a goblin witch, also part of the Great Faerie Escape (Chaotic)

Part 1 -

The party started "split" - most of the party including the Cultist Jaelle, is sent by Baron Westlake to investigate strange occurrences in the Northern Moors. They travel hence to find themselves in foul weather on a hill looking down into a swampland with a menacing Black Manse in the center. Even as the "hero's" steal themselves to seek shelter in the Manse, they are approached by a pale and pentagram marked figure - the formerly dead Thievin Steven! Steven was resurrected by who-knows-what and compelled to travel towards the same Black Manse the rest of the perty viewed from the hill.

Resigned to seeking shelter, the reunited party encounters a strange servant who addresses them all familiarly as Lords and Ladies (some gender blending here). The strange man lets them know that the wedding will soon begin. The goblin warrior Gobbo quickly runs ahead at the thought of a party...across a moat bridge and into a pair of large bronze doors...even as six troll like creatures come over the bridge and attack his comrades! The trolls were really no match - save for their one shot pony attack of slinging a rope with a rock around a victim's neck and pulling them into the black muck of the moat (drowning ensues).

As part of the drowning operation, Eata, goblin witch (who's magic spell of sticking a spear in a troll's face does wonders) kicked a metal box while drowning. After the fight, she retrieved the box and within, they find a lion mask which perfectly fits Gobbo...

Inside the party finds a large (rotten) tapestry filled hall. After playing around a bit, Thievin Steven relates to a tapestry of a woman in a black dress with a black bird. Just as he does that, Gobbo who had been scampering around the hall getting into, well everything opened the upper balcony floor - and unleashed an avalanche of earth!

The balcony and the floor below collapsed under the weight and all the party had to grab onto the nearest beam or floor tile to prevent falling into the hole in the floor.

Alas, Nerelon, Eata, and Thievin Steven fell through into a strange water filled cavern...what evil lurks here????

Part 2

The party was joined by Stanwise the Halfling Vagrant, who arrived moments after Gobbo caused the floor to collapse with half the party falling away.

Undeterred, Gobbo raced about still opening doors, first to a chapel (where he found acid to throw at friends) and then a room with headless maidens...

The below crew found themselves surrounded by skeletons who guided them to a pit to Hell, 15' down was a violet gem the size of a football.

After much to do, the party reunited, got the gem (thanks to a Divine Intervention from Jaelle), got up to the chapel, looted it, got attacked by fire skeletons, got a bell dropped on them, killed the rest of the headless maidens, got more masks, and somehow managed to only use two more of the resurrection syringes.

We end with the ghosts now material and attacking the unmasked (only a few of those left - Tammi and Stanwise, I think) on sight...but others in the mansion (the flaming skeletons, for example) attack the masked characters on sight.

We have a long break until August 6th as next week is Cthulhu and then I head off on vacation.

I suspect, we'll have one session left - but who knows how this party plays things out...

As is, Team Stanwise/Thievin Steven is in the Three Maidens Room, Team Tammi/Bentley is in the Bell Tower.

Part 3 - Finale!

The party started out split in two far parts of the manse, and immediately decided to, split again!

Thievin Steven and Nerelon found a feast hall filled with revellers, a band and all the food they could eat...so they did (until the end)!

Gobo the Goblin Warrior and Stanwise the Halfling went up the stairs to find a creepy hallway filled with prays to many different gods. Gobo grabbed one of the prayers and summoned a Spirit Vulture from Hell, who promptly began beating Gobo to death, even as Stanwise (who without a mask could not see the Spirit) watched on.

Meanwhile...Tammi the Thief, Bentley the Hairless Rakasha, Eata the Goblin Witch, and Jaelle the Cleric of the Unseen One all climbed up through the bell tower arriving on the same hallway that Gobo was being beaten to death on, but with more sense than to touch random prayers to unknown gods. After the public demise of Gobo, the party rejoined and explored the floor (careful not to touch the prayers). There were slit windows which looked down into the feast hall where Steven and Nerelon were having a great time.

There was one smaller room that looked positive, and trying the door they found a sarcophagus in a wedding bed...nothing odd there. After Tammi started picking the locks, got stabbed, almost died through a poisonous acid but was saved by Jaelle the cleric's healing (Jaelle also got a scarred right hand for the effort.

Inside the sarcophogus was an ancient corpse wrapped in linen and bound in dozens of religious bands of iron. Jaelle removed the bands and Stanwise noticed a black engagement ring on the corpses left hand. With the attraction that only a halfling can have for a cursed ring, Stanwise snatched it up and stuck it on his hand. Even though burned with Hellfire, he was determined until eventually, the spirit of Illse, the Bride of the Black Manse settled in him. He was immediately healed and ready to go...

This is when the 12th bell tolled. All characters were summoned to the Feast Hall - except for Nerelon and Steven who were already there. BUT the Hall had transformed and the revelers were all now demons of every sort. Best of all, Mammon, a Lord of Hell was there to collect his Bride...Stanwise.

Who, in the tradition of breaking my game that is exceeded by John replied. "OK, lets go."

Joe, welcome to the game, you fit in nicely. :)

Soooo...Mammon took his Bride back to Hell, the demons departed and the mansion turned back into a wreck. And the party continued towards the seashore to secure Baron Westlake's northern flank.
