DCC The Lost City: The Lost City

Cast:
John as Badger II, the boy Wizard and Amar the Cynidicean
Wyatt as Avery, Accidental Destroyer of Worlds, Foxy the Werefox and Ederik the Dog
Kathy as Katilia the Dwarf, Kilcia the Cleric of Madarua, and Kiya the Halfling
Nate as Muj the Gambler and Raj the Noble

The group started the evening with a knock on the door of their temporary lair - outside was Muj the Gambler and Rajour the Noble, both coming off of a mushroom induced high and unsure where they were. Inspired by Badger, the group sought out the evil priest that had killed the other evil priest that Badger possessed...yeah, thinking too much about this will make your head hurt.

After the death (and "roll-over") of Muj in a crushing wall trap, the party found a gambling den and did not kill everyone and take their loot...but they did try to gamble - and lost 10 copper pieces. Meanwhile, Badger found a secret door, opened it and found the priest he NEEDED to kill. The fight ensued and good targeting lead to one dead priest and five hobgoblin mercs taking on a new contract, starting with slaughtering the 10 or so Zargon acolytes.

The gang got to the underground city and let the hobgoblin mercs go (to raid the cliff goblins - never to be seen again) and looked around the underground city. It must have been pretty weak as the group decided to stock up and leave town.

The session ended with a re-equipped party heading to the surface, with one final encounter before escaping the ziggurat into the desert.

Of note: Raj was an adherent of Zargon and throughout the evening went through a challenge to his past beliefs. I thought that was a really good subplot and wanted Nat to play it out for the character. Good news for Nat - come back in two weeks and your two characters will start by levelling up to some first level class (you pick).

Bad news - you will all need every bit of help you can get...
