DCC: The Lost City - A New World (to destroy)
Cast:
John as Badger II, the boy Wizard and Amar the Cynidicean
Wyatt as Avery, Accidental Destroyer of Worlds, Foxy the Werefox and Ederik the Dog
Kathy as Katilia the Dwarf, Kilcia the Cleric of Madarua, and Kiya the Halfling
Nate as Muj the Gambler/Thief and Raupar the Soldier/Elf
The group decided to stock up in the Lost City and make their way out of the desert.
Backtracking through the ziggurat, the party made their way all the way back to the entrance unhindered by drunken owlbears, only to be attacked at the exit by a giant ferret! A tough customer, it was brought down by a magic swords cone of fire (along with a couple zero levels). Rolled over all was well, and the party left the Lost City behind...
The desert was a rough trip - nothing but sun, sand and rocks. The Cynideans were aghast at the light, but loved the stars which actually enhanced their vision. On the third day Kilcea made a feast of food and water and so all were ready when they encountered a caravan. Unfortunately, Amar figured out that they had shifted to another (unknown) world. Old hat for Avery and Badger, but new to everyone else.
The Caravan master agreed to let the group accompany them in exchange for acting as guards. The Master wasa gaunt tall fellow who apparently could smell magic. As the group spread out among the caravan they found that all was not well in this land. A strange foreign empire had conquered this land and surplanted the Old Gods with new ones...you are still not sure of that, or if that is a move by the mad king Baldwin of Punjar.
Either way, you were all headed to the town of Pan'pot'sun to deliver good and other traveller.
Badger decided to accept a camel ride from a pervert and then cast a fright/cantrip to escape groping. The pervert fell off the camel, which bolted (with Badger) into the deep desert. As if in rescue, a massive colorful winged flying white snake scooped Badger up with its tail and flew off to the north. Several of the characters in the caravan spotted Badger and were helpless to rescue the little shit...I mean...boy wizard.
Avery discovers that a prophesy is that Choronus is coming to Natufia (these lands) as a mortal avatar to rescue the faithful from the tyranny of King Baldwin. They have also heard of scrolls of the Old Religion along the deserted shores of the inland Karas Sea.
Raupar is called to the Caravan Master's wagon and agrees to paint the creature that took Badger. In exchange, the Caravan Master helps Raupar prepare for the bonding ceremony with Ehawol the Fallen, a Fae Lord of Demonic mein. With the help of the K halfling, Raupar succeeds and is bonded to the Fae Lord.
The session ends with the caravan entering Pan'pot'sun.
