The party immediately heard the large guard dogs barking below the ridge and, looking back,  The ridgeline ran for two mile, Kai spotted four of the monks bounding up the mountain mystic levitation style, about 30' up a leap!  Despite this, the party was able to stay ahead of the monks for two miles, until descending from the mountain. Travel through the mountains is slow, cold and, occasionally, dangerous. Especially for old engineers developing saddle sores. The third night out, the watch is lucky to see three apparitions sneaking towards camp. With thin necks, distended bellies, claws and lamprey-like mouths, the nomads cry these are the Hungry Ghosts!
